The priest beggar – Your good deeds will always be repaid to you

Once upon a time Shree Krishna and Arjun went for a short stroll around the city. They saw a poor looking priest begging. Arjun felt pity at him and he gave him a bag full of 100 gold coins. The priest became very happy and thanked Arjun. He left for his home. On way, he saw another person who needed help. The priest could have spared a coin or two to help that person. however, he chose to ignore it. But on way to his home, one thief robbed him of his bag of coins and ran away.

The priest became dejected and went back again for begging. Next day again when Arjun saw the same priest begging and he was surprised that after getting a bag full of coins which can last a lifetime, the priest was still begging! He called the priest and asked him the reason for this. The priest told him about the whole incident and Arjun again felt pity at him. So, this time he gave him a diamond.

The priest became very happy and left for home and he again saw someone who needed help but he chose to ignore again. Upon reaching home, he safely put the diamond in an empty pot of water with a plan to cash it out later and live a wealthy life. His wife was not at home. He was very tired so he decided to take a nap. In between, his wife came home and picked up that empty pot of water, walked towards the river close by to fill up the water. She had not noticed the diamond in the pot. Upon arriving at the river, she put the whole pot into the running river water to fill it up. She filled up the pot but the diamond was gone with the water flow!

When the priest woke up, he went to see the pot and asked his wife about the diamond. She told him, she had not noticed it and it must have been lost in the river. The priest couldn’t believe his bad luck and again started begging. Again Arjun and Shree Krishna saw him begging and Arjun inquired about it. Arjun felt bad and started thinking if this priest will ever have a happy life.

Shree Krishna who is an incarnation of God smiled. Shree Krishna gave that priest one coin which was not even enough for buying a lunch or dinner for one person. Arjun asked Shree Krishna, “Lord, I gave him gold coins and diamond, which could have given him a wealthy life, yet it didn’t help him. How will just one coin help this poor guy?” Shree Krishna smiled and told Arjun to follow that priest and find out.

On the way, the priest was thinking that one coin Shree Krishna gave him, he can’t even buy a lunch for one person. Why would he give so little? He saw a fisherman who was getting a fish out of his net. Fish was struggling. The priest felt pity at fish. He thought that this one coin won’t solve my problem, why not I save that fish. So the priest paid the fisherman and took the fish. He put the fish in his small pot of water which he always carried with him.

The fish was struggling in a small pot of water, ended up throwing out a diamond from the mouth! The priest screamed with a joy, “I got it, I got it”. At that same point, the thief who had robbed the priest’s bag of 100 gold coins, was passing through there. He thought that the priest recognized him and may get him punished. He got nervous and ran to the priest. He apologized to the priest and returned his bag full of 100 gold coins. The priest couldn’t believe what just happened.

Arjun saw all this and said, “Oh Lord, Now I understand your play”.

Moral: When you have enough to help others, don’t let that chance go. Your good deeds will always be repaid to you.

How to Make a Quick 10% to 20% When the Market Crashes

August 27, 2015  –  By

Have you ever gotten into an argument or fight with someone who goes from calm and rational to nuclear in an instant? It’s scary.

In my life, the few scraps I’ve gotten into took the typical course. A heated debate leads to name-calling and threats. Finally, one guy pushes the other and it’s on.

But I’ve always walked away when the party with whom I’m having a simple disagreement explodes out of nowhere. That person is unstable, and you never know what’s going to happen.

That’s how the market felt on Monday.

It was not an orderly decline. If it was, it still wouldn’t have felt good – but it wouldn’t have been as downright scary.

The sudden plunge, attributed to the slowdown in China, was exacerbated by high-frequency traders’ computers dumping shares all at once.

It left the market out of control as there was no human to analyze what was going on and figure out a way to restore the market to order.

In the old days, when specialists still traded on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, if there were an overwhelming number of sell orders, the specialist might delay the opening of the stock until they were able to make an orderly market.

That doesn’t mean the stock wouldn’t plummet or that crashes could be entirely avoided, but it would eliminate these computer-caused flash crashes that we’ve seen a few times over the last several years.

It also didn’t help that many of the online brokers were down or impaired during the frenetic trading of the morning. I know that I was still getting very slow data even in the afternoon.

How to Handle a Crash

[Earlier in the week], in Wealthy Retirement, I outlined several things you should do when markets tank. These included sticking to your trailing stops (as Matthew Carr advised yesterday). I can’t tell you how many emails I receive from readers who think it’s better to abandon their stops during crashes because “the market always comes back.”

It often does bounce the next day. But stops are a tool to manage risk. The last thing you want to do in a crash is ignore risk management. You could end up losing a lot more than you ever expected.

Protecting your capital is vital when markets crash. But…

What if you could make a quick 10% or 20% when they do?

Josh Brown, who writes The Reformed Broker blog, recently discussed a unique – albeit speculative – way to capitalize on the panic of a crashing market. When markets behave like they did Monday morning, put ridiculously low buy limit orders in and see if you get filled.

For example, say you were interested in biotech giant Celgene (Nasdaq: CELG), which closed Friday at $119.05. You see the market is in an all-out panic on Monday morning, so you put in a buy order 20% below Friday’s close at $95.

You might think to yourself, there’s no way that bid will get hit…

On Monday, Celgene opened at $104.28. It then swiftly fell to a low of $92.98 as the computers and panic drove the market lower. Your $95.25 bid would have been filled and you’d have owned the stock 20% below Friday’s close, with no change in the company’s fundamentals.

When Celgene quickly bounced back and closed at $113.38, you would have been sitting on a 19% gain – all in just a few hours.

Starbucks (Nasdaq: SBUX) is another example. The stock closed at $52.84 on Friday. If you put a bid in 20% lower at $42.27, you probably would have gotten filled, as the stock bottomed at $42.07. It closed at $50.34 on Monday – another 19% gain.

There is nothing magical about the number 20%. I’m just using that as an example of a big discount to the closing price of a stock. You may decide 10% or 25% is better for you.

The important thing to remember is that you should use this strategy only with stocks that you’re happy to own even if prices fall further. Additionally, be aware that in a crash, stocks can in fact go lower.

Just because your stock is down 20% when you buy it doesn’t mean it can’t fall 40% on the day/week/year.

In fact, sometimes crashes are only the beginning of down moves. So even though you’re getting a 20% discount, you could still lose money in a bear market.

But I like this technique, particularly for some dividend payers that I’ve had my eye on. Imagine if you bought Verizon (NYSE: VZ) when it was down 10% yesterday. You’d now be earning a 5.3% yield. Or you could have gotten a 3% yield on JPMorgan (NYSE: JPM) if you had bought it when it was down 10%.

Just be careful; this strategy is not for the timid. But if you’re willing to own a stock lower, even if it continues downward, you might find yourself up a quick 10% or 20% by putting out ridiculous bids that you think will never get hit.

Good investing,

Marc

NewsJuly2015 West Philadelphia Housing Market
There has been a significant increase in new residential development in West Philadelphia over the past few
years. Students at nearby universities and professionals see the area as a desirable and affordable place to live.
The influx of these Millennials is expected to result in more nightlife, entertainment and retail for the area.
Recent housing includes a 25-story apartment building at 3737 Chestnut Street (under construction), two apartment
building proposals for 44th and Chestnut and 43rd and Clark Street, and modular homes at 46th and Sansom
Street (completed).
Landlords Needed To End Homelessness
Last August, spearheaded by the Mayor’s Office City of Pittsburgh and the Office of the County Executive, Allegheny County Department of Human Services, all of the area Continuum of Care service providers and interested
community stakeholders, joined with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and HUD to host the Pittsburgh
Rapid Results Boot Camp. Through HUD’s Point-in-Time count and the VA’s Gap Analysis, it was determined that
Pittsburgh needed to house 627 veterans experiencing homelessness to end homelessness in the city by Dec.
31, 2015. Now in their third 100 days, they have housed 50% of their goal. The coalition’s “Housing Homeless Veterans” media campaign and landlord outreach has included a television talk show appearance, a YouTube public
service announcement and a 144 bus and 100 bus shelter poster campaign encouraging interested landlords to
call “2-1-1.”
HIV/AIDS Grants
On May 19, 2015, HUD announced $29 million in grants to help approximately 1,200 extremely low-income persons
and families living with HIV/AIDS annually. In addition to housing assistance, these local programs will provide
access to the needed supportive services such as case management, mental health, substance abuse and employment training. The funding announced is offered through HUD’s Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS Program (HOPWA) and will renew HUD’s support of 25 local programs in 16 states. Research shows that a stable home is critical to the health of persons with HIV-AIDS resulting in better health outcomes and reduced transmission of the disease. In Region III, the Ministry of Caring, Inc. of Wilmington, Del. received more than $790,000; the City of Baltimore, Md. received over $1.4 million and Calcutta House in Philadelphia, PA received over $837,000

Delaware Joins Mayor’s Challenge
Governor Jack Markell has issued a proclamation to add the State of Delaware to the Mayors Challenge to End
Veteran Homelessness. Delaware estimates 277 veterans will experience homelessness
over the course of 2015. The City of Dover joined the Mayors Challenge last year and has already
permanently housed 19 homeless veterans towards its 100 day goal of housing 22 homeless veterans in the capitol
city by June 10. New Castle County, Wilmington and Newark will begin their 100-day effort to permanently
house 84 homeless veterans July 1. Meanwhile, Georgetown is planning a June symposium to
build awareness about veteran homelessness and the resources available to help house them across Sussex
County. Kent County and Seaford also signed on to the Challenge this month.

HOW TO BE INSANELY CONFIDENT – Instant confidence trigger

You can grab it instantly at: http://partners.selfdevelopment.net/ref/74023/7f6516ed
(click that link)

Some people have TONS of confidence. They can talk to anyone. They’re the life and soul of every party. They can command an audience on a whim.

These people were not born with confidence. They LEARNED it. And so can you. But you don’t need to throw yourself into embarrassing situations to push through your current mental limitations.

No “mustering up” courage is required. You can skip DIRECTLY to extreme self-confidence by using this simple NLP ‘trigger’ that activates the new behavior pattern instantly. Find out how at:

http://confidencetrigger.com/?afl=74023  and See results by TONIGHT. Guaranteed.

Just picture this…

You arrive at a party. When you walk in the room, EVERYONE stops and stares for a second, before crowding around you to talk.

Everyone wants a piece of you; you’re the center of attention. When you speak, people LISTEN.

They cling to your every word. You crack jokes effortlessly, and people find you funny…irresistible… and strangely magnetic.

Members of the opposite sex can’t help being around you. Everyone wants to be your friend…to seek your advice… to indulge in your stories. You’re strong, attractive, confident, radiating power and respect.

You’re the top of the food chain— the alpha personality that everyone loves and adores (and is secretly jealous of). If that describes you, great — you’re well aware of how this rare ability affords you an incredible lifestyle, fun and thrilling social encounters, and opens doors to career opportunities closed off to the general public.

But if that’s NOT you, listen up… because you’re seriously missing out. And what’s more, you can be that person, almost immediately.

In fact, if you’re the type who shies away in the corner… avoids social confrontation…can’t stand being the center of attention (but would love to)… and is SCARED TO DEATH at the thought of standing up and speaking in front of a crowd of people… I can turn you into the most confident person in the room.

See, the reason you’re shy and introverted isn’t because you’re any less social, humorous, intelligent or charismatic than others. Many confident people aren’t smart or charismatic at all… they just don’t fear what other people think of them.

As a child, you were conditioned to keep your mouth shut (Ever been told by your parents “Don’t talk to strangers?”.). You were ordered to obey authority figures like parents, teachers, adults. As a grown-up, this “learned” behaviour is like a knife to your confidence… and is no longer relevant to your life.

It’s time to shake it off.

The good news is, you can completely *reverse* the conditioning that’s no longer valuable in your adult life… in just minutes. It’s quick, effortless, requires zero practice, and works even if you don’t think it will.

That’s because, I have access to a powerful hypnosis CD that targets your negative ego, and re-programs your mind to immediately enjoy greater confidence.

It’s called “Extrovert Me” and it has already helped HUNDREDS of people kill confidence issues dead.

There’s only one catch– with your new confidence, you’re going to enjoy some CRAZY social situations
that may freak you out at the start… and I want you to e-mail me back and tell me all about them

Lives Are Being Changed!

Victory Women in Development Association (ViWiDA)-USA   is designed to enrich and change lives; specifically, targeting Women and Youths. Unlike competitors of VIWIDA-USA, programs offered by VIWIDA are unique because of the heritage/culture from which it is derived.

dina1In 1998, the founder, Dinnah Walton who is a CFO for Victory Women in Development Association VIWIDA USA, returned home to Tanzania, East Africa after sixteen years of residing in the United States. When she got home she found that since she first left the country, the living conditions in Tanzania have deteriorated further into extreme poverty, political disharmony, with HIV aids diseases running rampage among other things.

Albeit the democratization of the government and the privatization of businesses in Tanzania seemed to have changed the social climate; AIDS, lack of decent education, and extreme poverty continues to run amok.  It became apparent that the values, integrity and aspirations of a greater Tanzania, including the island of Zanzibar have been lost.  Aids, famine, and diseases are taking lives every day as 1.3 million people are affected with HIV/AIDS in Tanzania. Children of the effected remain homeless; so many of them are orphans left behind by their dying relatives. Large percentage of Youth are lacking education, and direction in their daily lives; while, most women remain not only uneducated and married young, but also are victims of either domestic violence or trafficking.

Even with modern technologies reaching the people of Tanzania; most of them are unable to capitalize on these resources because of sub-par education achievement, and political tension that has been brewing for almost half a century, because of the union between the Tanganyika and Zanzibar governments when they formed Tanzania early in 1960s.

Education standards in Tanzania are far below international standards. Many schools lack basic resources; operating without books or even desks, forcing dedicated students to learn while sitting on classroom floors, which may or may not be a finished concrete floor. Meanwhile teachers go months without pay, and whom they themselves may be lacking in the skills to efficiently train students.  While mainland Tanzania is utilizing what resources they have to improve education, the island of Zanzibar is lagging far behind because of political tensions between the Zanzibar and the government of Tanzania as mentioned earlier.

On returning to United States, Dinnah decided to do something to change the situation in Tanzania, but in doing so became aware to similar hardships faced by people at her home, in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas. Thus, Dinnah felt compelled to create the nonprofit organization that would work to combat homelessness, extreme poverty, and empower women, youth, underprivileged by helping get the resources they need. For example transitional housing for homeless individuals, life skills to empower women, and helping to close the education achievement gap among urban youth in America and in Tanzania, E Africa.  After much collaboration with dedicated people in the community she serve, and the support of family and friends, Victory Women in Development Association,(ViWiDA) U.S.A. was formed in 2001 by Dinnah and other two founders, Dr. Alwiya Omar and Edythe Shapiro; with the help of Mr. Ari Merratezon, a dedicated community developer and U.S. Veteran.

Today, ViWiDA-USA provides programs to empower Women,Youth and Underprivileged individuals in Local and International Communities. For example, The Youth Educational & Exchange Program, which is a 9 month curriculum designed to enrich inner city education with cultures exposures and offering students a chance to learn how they can help other people not only in their communities, but to learn about the hardships shared by people in Tanzania, Africa, and the world in general. Participants are empowered through volunteerism and willingness to serve the human kind. The programs encourage participants to own businesses also.

A special note from the founder:-  ” I wish some women and men around the world will adopt the same kind of an organization which is victorious to women, youth and empowering communities. They can copy what we do, and may be we will hear about Victory Women in Development Association ViWiDA-Japan, or ViWiDA-Europe, ViWiDA-China, ViWiDA Malaysia, ViWiDA-Asia, India, or ViWiDA-Africa and so on. Let the movement to Empower Women and Youth grow around the world till there is PEACE; till Women are no longer VICTIMS of Impunity; till Youth are empower to create a better world for their parents; till Poverty and Diseases are no longer a problem to humanity!” – dswalton @ ViWiDA-USA
